Chef Jessica Koslow is pleased to invite Inside Access from Chase to Sqirl, for a rare private dinner featuring a selection of signature and specially curated items. This casual evening will begin with an hors d’oeuvres reception where Jessica will share her preserve making process and offer guests an interactive opportunity to try it themselves. Following the reception, guests will be escorted to the studio above the restaurant for a four-course seated dinner. Wine and beer will be offered throughout the evening.
In 2011, Jessica Koslow opened Sqirl as a preserves company, in the quaint Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. She later added breakfast and lunch service to the menu, making the restaurant a beacon for vibrant California cuisine. On any given day there are lines outside the restaurant and around the block.
Chef Koslow’s “jams-to-riches” story began as she grew up in Long Beach, California. She began her culinary career by knocking on Anne Quatrano’s Bacchanalia restaurant door in Atlanta asking for a job. There, she trained as a pastry chef and perfected her craft of preserving. After moving to LA with fresh produce available year-round, the evolution to a café made sense. Her mission was to create “a place where anyone can come and feel like they are part of the community.”
Sqirl has remained a nationally recognized neighborhood restaurant, with Jessica earning a StarChefs Rising Star Community Chef Award in 2014. More recently in 2018 Chef Koslow was also recognized as a finalist for the James Beard Foundation Best Chef: West.
